Emergence – Digi Majou is partnered with Deer Crossing the Art Farm to develop and tour an interactive media arts spectacle to B.C. schools in 2020.
This Immersive Art Experience brings together elementary school children & their teachers & artists in order to interact with their imaginations, nature, humans and media art. The Emergence Project is grateful to Indigenous Knowledge carriers Hiwus Calvin Craigan, Howard Paul, Kawt-Lee-Maht Holly Ann Higgins from shishlah Nation, and Deborah K’ana Baker from Squamish Nation for sharing their world views, stories, and presence.
Funded by BC Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, and with the support of the Town of Gibsons, District of Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast Regional District, we hired 6 local youth and 5 professional artists in 2018 to collaborate on building this experience which includes massive projections, a seashell dome space, interactive circuit-based installations, shadow puppetry and original electronic soundscape.
